Free PCV Mock Theory Test

100 questions, 1 hour 55 minutes, pass mark 85, just like the real bus and coach theory test. Free, no sign-up.

How this PCV mock theory test works

  • 100 questions drawn from all 14 bus and coach topics.
  • 1 hour 55 minute countdown, matching the real test.
  • Flag, review and change answers before you finish.
  • Pass mark 85, with a topic-by-topic breakdown of your score.

Tip: switch "Show answers as I go" on for a learning run, and off when you want true exam conditions.

After your mock

Your results put your weakest topics first. Tap "Revise this" to practise a topic, then review every question with its explanation. Your best score is saved on your device, so you can see your progress without an account.

Get the most from each mock

Nearly two hours is a long time to concentrate, so practise in one sitting, somewhere quiet, with the timer running. Then go through the review carefully: read the explanation for each wrong answer, practise the topics that cost you marks and take a fresh mock. Book your test when you're passing comfortably every time, and remember that hazard perception is a separate pass, so give it regular practice too.

More bus driver theory test practice

Retake fixed sets with mock test 1 and mock test 2, or go back to PCV theory test practice to work through topics such as carrying passengers and drivers' hours and rest periods.

Hazard perception for bus drivers

Part 1b is a separate test of 19 clips, with 67 out of 100 needed to pass. Practise it with our free lorry and bus hazard perception test. When you're ready, book both parts on GOV.UK.
